Nottingham is een stad, unitary authority, en de provinciezetel van Nottinghamshire in Centraal-Engeland, gelegen aan de rivier de Trent.
De stad heeft ongeveer 270.000 inwoners.
Economie
Nottingham is een belangrijke slagader voor (spoor)wegverkeer. De belangrijkste industrieën in de stad zijn de vervaardiging van kant, katoen en zijde. De traditioneel in de stad gevestigde textielindustrie profiteerde zeer van de uitvindingen van James Hargreaves en Richard Arkwright. Sigaretten, fietsen en geneesmiddelen behoren tot de andere producten die in Nottingham worden gemaakt. De internationale firma Games Workshop heeft zijn hoofdkwartier in deze stad.
