Racibórz: Guide
Racibórz (; Duits: Ratibor) is een Lijst van Poolse steden|stad in het Polen|Poolse woiwodschap Silezië (woiwodschap)|Silezië, gelegen in de powiat Powiat Raciborski|Raciborski. De oppervlakte bedraagt 74,96 km², het inwonertal 60.218 (2006).
Geschiedenis
De burcht Racibórz/Ratibor aan een voorde in de Oder werd in 1108 voor het eerst vermeld. Van 1281 tot 1532 was de stad het centrum van het Hertogdom Ratibor. De stad werd in 1532 Oostenrijks en in de Eerste Silezische Oorlog (1740-1742) veroverd door Pruisen. Als deel van dit land behoorde ze sinds 1871 tot het Duitse Keizerrijk. De stad werd in 1945 door de Sovjets bezet en geannexeerd door Polen. De Duitse bevolking werd verdreven.
