Straubing: Guide



Straubing is een Duitse Deelstaten van Duitsland|deelstaat Beieren. De stad heeft ongeveer 44.500 inwoners.

Bezienswaardigheden


Straubing heeft een schilderachtig stadscentrum met vele historische bouwwerken, w.o. de Sankt Jacobskirche (14de-16de eeuw), een der mooiste hallenkerk van Duitsland. Drievuldigheidszuil uit 1790. Voorts een voormalig hertogelijk slot uit de 14de eeuw.

Geschiedenis


Straubing speelt een rol in de Hollandse geschiedenis. De Beierse hertogen (uit het geslacht Wittelsbach) die in Holland regeerden waren ook graaf van Straubing. Deze tijd wordt in Duitsland Straubing-Holland genoemd.
